I got a whole lotta nothing to say in this week's intro. Trying to remember to breathe as the school year comes to a close, and the real estate amps up. Hope my Deep Thoughts Thursday with The Boozy Weathergirl are not as random as my life this week.
1
I agree with the sentiment that there should really be a summer camp for adults where you are allowed to just sleep for two weeks.
2
Have you ever rubbed your nose because you have an itch, but you do it at an angle, frequency and strength that you're sure someone thinks you're a coke addict?
3
Why is it that when you give your phone to a stranger, server, or passerby to take a photo, they don't just take one or two, but twenty. Then it becomes too daunting to choose one, and you inevitably pick the one where you look the worst, because you're too exhausted to remember which one was the best.
4
Speaking of which, when I look at group pictures, I really, really do try to consider the way everyone looks in the photo. But push comes to shove, I'm choosing the one in which I look best. #sorrynotsorry
5
I think parenting is a fine line between giving your kids high fives and giving them the finger.
6
A body like mine does not happen overnight. It takes pregnancy, neglect, stress and a shitload of liquor and late-night eating to attain.
7
Don't you love when you go to reset a password, and the prompt asks you for your old password? Like, seriously? If I knew that, why the fuck would I be trying to reset it?
8
Some people remind me of old TV sets. You have to hit them a few times until they get the picture.
9
I went to a real estate function this week, and one of the sassiest and wisest agents I met gave me the best advice - keep your legs crossed and your purse closed. Mind blown. I'm adding this to my business cards, for real.
10
Not only do I dance like no one is watching - I drink like I don't have to work in the morning.
I do have to work in the morning. For eight more days. Whether you are or are not an educator, summer is a time of sun and fun. But having kids does add a layer of angst to the recipe. Those with college kids or private school kids are already feeling it. Public school parents - your time is coming soon. In order to help you cope, take some of these suggestions from The Washingtonian!
