I'm back! Am I better than ever? Not so much. Coming back from vacation sucks. But I know how much you were looking forward to this week's Deep Thoughts Thursday with The Boozy Weathergirl, so, here you go...

1

Why are my feet frozen when I go to bed, but then halfway through the night, I am kicking off my socks like I have burning embers at the ends of my legs?

2

I love the thought that a charcuterie board is basically an adult Lunchables where you swap out the Capri Sun for wine.

My friend's elementary-aged son is into baking. He made some cookies for the family the other day. When his mom tasted them, she remembered a gift she got from her friend - vodka-infused vanilla - and asked him where he got the vanilla to use in the recipe. Sure enough, he pointed to the boozy extract. Not knowing what to say, she ignored it. Later, she was talking on the phone to her husband while she was out and told him she felt like a bad mom. He said not to worry. The kid ate a bunch of the cookies and was now cleaning his room without being asked, so...

Anyone else update their phones where you get an AI summary of your texts? Sometimes it's pretty accurate. And sometimes, it's like playing the actual game of Telephone, where you're asking yourself how in the hell it summarized THAT from what was actually being discussed.

5

The term "out of shape" kind of confuses me. If the said shape is a straight line, I am about as distorted from that as I can be. However, if the shape is a circle, well, then I am right on track!

6

Did you know Yoda had a last name? It's Ladywho.

Never, ever underestimate the healing power of listening to your favorite music on full blast while dancing around the house like an idiot. It is, however, best to do this when you are alone, with no hope of your partner or children returning anytime soon.

Pizza used to be the cheap way to feed a lot of people. Not so much anymore. I am averaging about $55 for two large pizzas wherever I go nowadays. Apparently, each ingredient is being flown in separately from Italy, then plated in gold and sprinkled with the rarest fairy dust before making it to the box.

When my lotion bottle gets to the end of its use, I am constantly torn between my OCD wanting to throw it away and check another thing off my list and my frugality telling me to beat that bottle on my hand until every last drop of lotion comes out of it. The struggle is real, people.

My time on the West Coast last week was dreamy. It is nice to be in the 70s when it's negative degrees here in the Northeast. My daughter is lobbying hard for my husband and I to move out there. Of course, her life right now is on our dime. Check back in 3.5 years, and we'll see if she's still as jazzed about her income in comparison to her cost of living...

Speaking of fun in the sun, my friend from high school started a beverage company which I would like to help promote - oo-Lah! Trev, I've got to hand it to you, man - you make a delicious canned cocktail! Other than the samples he sent to me, you can now buy these tasty treats in Virginia and Florida. If you'd like to get them in your state, drop them a line and let them know! This is a veteran-owned business, and folks, I cannot think of a better way to support the US of A!
